August 24 became a landmark day for the crypto-ETF market: the combined net inflow into spot Bitcoin and Ethereum funds reached an impressive $453.6 million. However, the lion's share of these funds—about 66%—was directed into products managed by BlackRock, once again confirming the giant's status as the main beneficiary of institutional interest in digital assets.
Analyzing the flow structure, I see a clear division: Bitcoin ETFs received $337.6 million, of which $209 million went to the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). That is more than 62% of the total volume. Ethereum funds, in turn, attracted $116 million, with $90.92 million of that going into the iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), accounting for about 78%. The second position among ether products was taken by the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust with $12.5 million.
BlackRock — the main channel for institutional access
Such concentration of funds is no coincidence. BlackRock, managing $15.3 trillion in assets as of June 30, 2026, continues to dominate both categories since the launch of the ETFs in January 2024. This makes the company the primary bridge between traditional finance and the cryptocurrency market.
Notably, inflows into Ethereum funds have been recorded for the sixth consecutive day, indicating sustained rather than speculative interest. In August, we are seeing the most significant monthly inflow into ETH ETFs in the last ten months—this is an important signal for the market. Ether itself was trading near $2,473, losing about 2.2% over the day, which suggests some cooling after the recent rally.
Bitcoin, in turn, is holding around the $79,400 mark, and total net assets in spot BTC funds have reached $79.16 billion. Earlier this week, inflows into Bitcoin ETFs amounted to $606 million—the highest since May, confirming the upward trend in institutional demand.
My view: The current dynamics are not just a burst of activity but a structural shift. BlackRock is becoming the "gateway" for large capital, and this strengthens the correlation between the crypto market and traditional finance. However, investors should remember: the concentration of flows in a single issuer creates liquidity risks when sentiment turns. Watch the sustainability of this trend—it is what will determine whether Bitcoin can establish itself above $80,000 in the coming weeks.
