Ethereum Classic (ETC) is a decentralized blockchain-based platform that enables the creation and execution of smart contracts without the participation of third parties. It appeared in 2016 as a result of a hard fork of the original Ethereum blockchain after the hacking of the DAO project. A distinctive feature of Ethereum Classic is its adherence to the “code is law” principle, which means that the blockchain is immutable and does not interfere with its operation, even in the event of hacker attacks or other problems. ETC supports decentralized applications (dApps) and uses a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus algorithm, which ensures the security and stability of the network.
